THE BEGINNINGS OF #WINGSOFCHILDHOOD

Dawn's obsession with the butterfly's symbolism of metamorphosis has seeded the Art initiative. She sees the complete and remarkable transformation of the butterfly from egg to larva, pupa and finally the adult butterfly, in herself and every woman.
As a child, she was obsessed with making art daily with her hands. Art helped ease her anxiety that came from speaking - It became an outlet to express her emotions. When she was a teenager, a series of tumultuous personal relationships took a toll - she lost her passion for both life and art. A decade later, Dawn rediscovered her passion and made a bold decision to turn her love for Paper Art into a full-time career.
She has been practising as a Paper Artist for more than 10 years now and moving into 2025, sees a pivotal year where she merges passion with purpose.

THE STRENGTH OF COMMUNITY

“Butterflies can't see their wings. They can't see how truly beautiful they are,
but everyone else can. People are like that as well.”
― Naya Rivera

Wings of Childhood has been popping up around Singapore in the form of art installations, one-of-a-kind experiences and festivals. Our team teaches ‘Reflect and Paint’ workshops to different schools and communities. We also have a community Art installation (in collaboration with Jian Yang, at COULISSE HEIR, Ion Orchard) and an upcoming string of themed experiences within the fields of Psychology X Art, hosted with likeminded collaborators like mental wellness bar Spectre, project Innerkind by Melissa Tan, non-profit Peace of Art by Eunice Yeo and Brand Therapist Yasmine Khater.

You will have an opportunity to contribute your creations to the art installation at COULISSE HEIR'S windows and watch as it ‘grows wings’!
Check out our journey on IG stories as we conduct reflective wing painting community workshops around Singapore or come join us in-person (sign up details above)
